McCulloch Jail Release Routes
McCulloch County Jail is the county’s central local custody facility. The Sheriff operates it. Custody may end through bond, a court order, time served, sentence completion, or another authorized community release. It may also end because the person was delivered to TDCJ, ICE, the U.S. Marshals Service, another county, or another lawful custodian. Those outcomes are not interchangeable. A transfer means the person left this jail but may remain confined.
The permanent county jail register is the most useful starting record. Texas retention series PS4200-06 includes the person’s name, intake number, reason for confinement, and release or transfer date. The combined phrase “release or transfer” is important. Ask for the destination or type shown in the detailed paperwork before calling the event a community release. Detailed booking-in/out, commitment, transport, transfer, and release papers fall under PS4200-10 and have a minimum retention period of two years after release or transfer.
A bond paper and a booking-out entry answer different questions. The signed order or bond supports the legal authority. The Sheriff’s entry supplies the physical departure time. One charge may be resolved while another hold remains. Check every known cause and any listed detainer, which is a request by another authority to keep or receive the person.
Confirm McCulloch Jail Release
Begin at the official Sheriff page and follow its “current Jail Roster” link. That link opens the McCulloch Kologik tenant. The configuration reviewed for the research had history mode disabled. A listed booking can show identity details, booking time, arresting agency, charges, bond data, comments, days confined, and a photograph when available. Current entries observed did not establish a public historical release feed.
Record the time of the check. If the person is not listed, try exact and alternate spellings. Then use IVSS-Counties, call the jail, and ask whether the register shows a release or transfer for the specific booking. Texas replaced county VINE with IVSS-Counties in September 2025, though the Sheriff page still carries legacy VINELink language. An alert is prompt operational notice, not a certified release record.
- Match the booking by full name, booking date, birth details, and agency.
- Ask whether the recorded event was release or transfer and request the destination or release type.
- Obtain the jail register or booking-out record through the county request form.
- Match the cause number in the district, county, or municipal court record.
- If transferred, switch to the receiving custodian’s locator after reasonable processing lag.
The McCulloch County released inmate search explains how these channels fit together. Do not convert a roster disappearance into proof. It means only that the person was not displayed on that current screen at that check time.
McCulloch Jail Records Request
The county’s open-records request form asks for requester contact details, a specific description, inspection or copies, and whether advance notice is wanted if cost exceeds $100. Describe one booking precisely. Give the full name, alternate spelling, date of birth or booking number if known, and a narrow arrest or booking date range.
Ask for the jail-register entry, intake and booking sheet, booking-out or release record, actual release date and time, destination or type if recorded, commitment, transfer or release order, property receipt, and booking photograph if needed. Request electronic copies when available. Property inventories under PS4200-12 and county conduct or good-time records under PS4200-07 carry a two-year minimum after release or transfer. A requester does not need to quote retention codes, but the descriptions help identify the exact material.

The official Sheriff page does not publish lobby hours. Do not borrow the clerks’ hours. Call before an in-person trip. The Sheriff’s current address should control over stale directories that show 300 West Main.
McCulloch Release Court Check
For a felony cause, use the 452nd District Court docket filtered to McCulloch and the District Clerk’s linked records channel. County-level misdemeanor matters route through County Court and the County Clerk. A city ordinance or Class C matter may involve municipal court. Save each cause number and read the signed document, not just a hearing setting.
A personal bond order can authorize release while another hold prevents departure. “Time served” normally means the confinement component was credited as ordered, but the jail record still confirms booking-out. A dismissal resolves the identified charge, not every hold. McCulloch also publishes a motion to release money deposited for cash bail. That document concerns the return of funds. It is not an order releasing a person from jail.
Current McCulloch Roster Limits
The Kologik roster is useful for current custody. It is not a 24-hour or 72-hour release list, and no official McCulloch recent-release window was verified. Vendor fields that exist in a data model do not prove that local release data is populated or publicly retained. When a name disappears overnight, preserve the prior booking identifier, note the later absence, check IVSS-Counties, and request the permanent register entry.
The jail register survives longer than the web display. That is the distinctive local fallback. It also lets a reader distinguish transfer from release even after a booking photo and current status have left the roster. The Released Last 24 Hours and Released Last 72 Hours guides explain how to define a time window in a focused records request without inventing a county feed.
McCulloch Release Pickup Questions
No reviewed source publishes local release-processing hours, weekend or holiday rules, property-return steps, medication supply, funds at release, pickup waiting rules, or the exact physical exit. Ask the Sheriff where pickup should occur, whether a ride may wait onsite, what proof is needed to receive property, whether funds and property are returned at release, and how after-hours departures work. These are questions, not assumed services.
The county links Concho Valley Transit rural schedules. No source establishes a stop at the jail or a schedule matched to release times. Confirm the jail exit and pickup point first, then check the current route. The Old McCulloch County Jail at 117 North High is a historic building, not today’s active release site. The current facility is at East Main.
McCulloch Transfer Follow-Up
If the record says TDCJ transfer, use the statewide offender search after transport and data-entry lag. TDCJ has no prison identified inside McCulloch County, so the person may be assigned anywhere in Texas. If ICE is the receiving custodian, use its exact-match detainee locator. If a federal warrant or USMS transfer appears, follow the federal docket. Another-county transfer requires that county’s jail source.
Release from one custodian does not settle the whole chain. The strongest statement names the custodian and event: released from McCulloch custody on bond, transferred from McCulloch to TDCJ, or booked out under a cited court order. Precision protects the record and the person.
McCulloch Record Field Guide
The permanent jail register can include name, gender, intake number, reason for confinement, and a release or transfer date. A detailed packet may also contain booking time, charges, arresting agency, bond, court numbers, commitment, release authorization, booking-out time, destination, transfer paperwork, property return, and staff entries. Ask for those fields rather than assuming each exists in a McCulloch record.
Property receipts and county conduct or good-time records have a two-year minimum after release or transfer. Transfer papers have a one-year minimum. These schedules do not promise web access or unconditional disclosure. They give the records officer a focused target when property, time credit, or destination is disputed.
Read each date label. Arrest, intake, court authorization, booking-out, and receiving-custodian intake may occur at different times. If the register says “release or transfer,” obtain destination paperwork before describing community release. Pair the physical jail event with the signed order that explains the legal outcome.
A two-source result should preserve both documents and the time each was checked. That record makes later correction easier if a live roster changes or a clerk adds a final order. Never treat an old booking photo as proof of present custody.
